Happy to announce the long awaited launch of Marla's dive visibility forecasts in California! Started by a group of freedivers in the UK, Marla developed bespoke algorithms to forecast visibility across several diving regions around the globe.

Dive visibility forecasts
Our algorithms are trained on a large dataset from several years of satellite and weather observations and forecast undersea visibility for the current and next day anywhere along the California coastline. The forecast is most accurate on the days when a recent satellite reading is available. The confidence score - which accompanies every forecast - indicates whether that's the case.
Dive conditions
Along with the viz forecasts, we provide the data on wind, swell and tides. We also encourage our users to submit their dive reports. These are of a great help to our community but also help us to improve the algorithms. Read more here on how to best leverage all these data to plan your next dives.

Free and premium features
We provide current day Marla's forecasts for wave height, wind and visibility free of charge for around two hundred locations in California. If you don't find your favourite spot, let us know and we will add it. All reports submitted by our divers are available to all users for free.
With premium subscriptions you additional get:
forecast for tomorrow and historic data for the last 3 days
hourly forecast for wind, swell, wave height, tides and more
forecasts for any arbitrary location around the California coastline
We’re currently offering a limited number of complimentary premium accounts for dive instructors. If you are interested, please get in touch!
We are a small team of freedivers. We use the revenue from premium features to support our expenses for maintaining and further improving Marla.
